Provides in-home developmental assessments for children, ages birth to three years. In addition, this program provides
age-appropriate toys, books and videos to further a child's
development and offers parent support groups, parent-child
outings and additional events.

Stopping Overwhelming Stress for Kids provides care for children whose
families are overwhelmed with stress and who are at an increased
risk of abusing their child.
HOPE for the
Homeless
Helping Out
with a Protective Environment for the Homeless provides care to children whose families are homeless. Parents
are provided assistance in finding shelter.
Healing Hearts
Art and Play are the languages of children
. Healing Hearts provides art, play and music therapy for children
who need help in coping with frightening realities. ABC's & More
Provides respite and crisis care for children
with special needs.
WEE Care Program
Wellness Education
and Evaluation
ensures that all children who stay at the Nursery for at least 24 hours receive medical exams and any needed medication. Parents are informed of their
child's health status and provided with information on childhood
immunizations and other health issues.
SEEDS for Growth
Program
Strives to Strengthen and Evaluate Every Developing Skill to promote healthy development of children. Parents are informed of their child's developmental skill level and are provided with information on basic child development. Parents are also offered activities that will promote their child's area of needed developmental improvement.
Family Support
Program
Provides follow-up support services to families
who have utilized the Crisis Nursery's services.
Home Visits Program
Family Support staff identify those families
who are at a greater risk of abusing/neglecting their child
and provide home-based support services to them.
Parent Support
Groups
Family Support staff invite parents to attend
support group meetings that focus on their specific needs and
concerns. The goals are to increase parenting skills, build
self confidence and self esteem and help parents build support
networks.
24-Hour Helpline
This Helpline is available to families 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year. Crisis and supportive counseling, resource
referrals and follow-up contacts are provided to families.
CORE Connections
Community Outreach, Referrals and Evaluation Connections. Crisis Nursery
staff are posted
at community centers/clinics to provide services which include:
- counseling
- developmental
assessments of children
- resource
referrals and support services
The Umbrella Fund
This emergency fund is available to Crisis Nursery
families who need assistance in obtaining the basic necessities
of life. The Crisis Nursery is able to help families pay a down
payment on an apartment, prescriptions, a utility bill, food,
diapers, and other necessities.
Transportation
Fund
Provides bus tickets or cab vouchers for families who are unable to find transportation to the Crisis Nursery.
