Guest Were Over the Top for Tots

Crisis Nurseries of St. Charles raised more than $92,000 at its 9th Annual Over the Top for Tots luncheon. The event, held at The Columns Banquet Center, benefitted the agency’s three 24-hour St. Charles area Nurseries and its Healing Hearts art therapy program for young children who needed help mending their broken spirits.

There were many enthralling surprises to keep 500 guests entertained and updated on the Nursery’s profound impact in the lives of at-risk children and families. Most sentimental were a $5,000 check presentation by Crisis Nursery Board Members Vince Blood and Tony Taylor on behalf of UPS, and special gift of $10,000 in Shop ‘n Save gift cards coordinated and presented by Board Members Linda Markus of Shop ‘n Save and Angela Owen of Coca-Cola. The generous donations will be used to help children admitted into care at the safe haven, and their parents who may need additional support with the purchase of food, diapers, formula and other basic needs items.

Young Children Guaranteed Safe Travel in Times of Crisis or Emergency

Crisis Nursery Young Professionals Board’s annual fundraiser and social mixer event, Napoli Night for the Crisis Nursery, earned $13,000 to support the agency’s Emergency Travel Fund. Close to 300 guests gathered at Clayton’s popular Bar Napoli, many with new toys for Crisis Nursery children in need.

Among the celebrity appearances were PR Guru Jill Saunders; Bernard Whittington, former NFL player; St. Louis Surge Women’s Basketball Team Owner, Khalia Collier; St. Louis American lifestyle reporter Jami Ballentine Dolby; St. Louis Ambush’s Corey Adamson, Team FREDBIRD and the glammed up Harris Stowe State University Honeycomb Dance Team.
