Saint Louis Crisis Nursery Grants Holiday Wishes to 1,500 Children

We are happy to announce that 1,500 children from 446 families benefited from our annual Holiday Hearts and Holiday Help gift collection programs.

Supported by generous sponsors known as Holiday Angels, the programs helped cover many high priority needs and special wishes of Nursery families who are experiencing financial hardship. Typical donations included toys, diapers, housing and utility assistance, transportation assistance, household needs, food and formula, and shoes and clothing.

“Hope was restored to many families this holiday season,” said DiAnne Mueller, Crisis Nursery CEO. “Our supportive community played a big role in making the holidays brighter for children and families in need.”

Guest Were Over the Top for Tots

Crisis Nurseries of St. Charles raised more than $92,000 at its 9th Annual Over the Top for Tots luncheon. The event, held at The Columns Banquet Center, benefitted the agency’s three 24-hour St. Charles area Nurseries and its Healing Hearts art therapy program for young children who needed help mending their broken spirits.

There were many enthralling surprises to keep 500 guests entertained and updated on the Nursery’s profound impact in the lives of at-risk children and families. Most sentimental were a $5,000 check presentation by Crisis Nursery Board Members Vince Blood and Tony Taylor on behalf of UPS, and special gift of $10,000 in Shop ‘n Save gift cards coordinated and presented by Board Members Linda Markus of Shop ‘n Save and Angela Owen of Coca-Cola. The generous donations will be used to help children admitted into care at the safe haven, and their parents who may need additional support with the purchase of food, diapers, formula and other basic needs items.

Young Children Guaranteed Safe Travel in Times of Crisis or Emergency
